Masahiro MIKURIYA − Editorial Board Member

Masahiro MIKURIYA, Professor of Chemistry at the School of Science and Technology,
Kwansei Gakuin University, was born in 1951 in Fukuoka. He received Bachelor (1975), Master
(1977), and Doctor (1980) degrees of Science from Kyushu University. He served as a Research
Associate (1981−1986) at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Kyushu University
and then as a Research Associate (1986−1987) at the Coordination Chemistry Laboratories,
Institute for Molecular Science, Okazaki National Research Institutes. He was promoted to
Associate Professor (1987) and Professor (1993) at the School of Science, Kwansei Gakuin
University. In 2002, he became Professor at the School of Science and Technology because of
reorganization of the school. He stayed at the laboratory of Professor Christopher A. Reed,
Department of Chemistry, University of Southern California, USA from 1985 to 1986 as a
visiting researcher. His research interests include the synthesis and magnetic properties of
oligonuclear and polynuclear metal complexes. He likes to play tennis, and has recently come
to enjoy watching the Takarazuka Revue.
